Freedom

  During this time of Independence celebration, I am convicted in my soul to reflect on what freedom genuinely means. In doing so, I pored over many historical quotes. The ones I have chosen below are a few thought provoking words, based on an understanding of the right to freedom.

  Regardless of where these people stood with their place in history...their words strengthen my spirit to what I believe freedom is…“Let Freedom Reign!”

Charlotte The June Fairy

  This is Charlotte...she is the “Caring Fairy.”

  We all need a Charlotte in our world, she cares for all the littlest of creatures. Making sure that they’re all happy and healthy, while entertaining them with her stories, songs and dance.

   June is a very busy time of year for Charlotte, there are always new little critters coming into the world in June, and they need her loving care.

   She’s one of the fastest fairies too...she will flit and fly circles around you, so fast it can make your head dizzy! She needs to be fast so she can keep up with all the speedy Lightning Bugs, also known as Fireflies. Then there’s the Buzzing Bees, and Dragonflies. Hummingbirds even have a time of it, trying to keep up with Charlotte; she’s just that fast!

  Charlotte loves to sing her songs to all her little friends. The Hummingbirds find great joy while they accompany her songs with their wonderful humming, and chirping. What a beautiful honey sweet tune they’ll create together.

  All the tiniest of creatures gather around to enjoy her songs and stories, sometimes they’ll sing along, while dancing with her...even the Crickets!

  So when you hear the Crickets start to chirp or a Hummingbird buzzing in your ear, be very still and listen closely, because Charlotte, the “Caring Fairy” may just be beginning a concert of the summer’s sweet June tunes, just for your pleasure. Buzzz….

Some Bunny Loves You....

  Here’s hoping that all your little bunnies spoil you to your fuzzy heart’s delight with bushels of colorful flowers, and lots of paw-made cards placed all around. While delicious smelling, creamy carrot soup stews on the stove, and heavenly carrot cake with black walnuts, and sweet juicy plump raisins tempt you. Let’s not forget all those whiskery, tickly kisses you’ll be receiving, on the cheek...given by each cute critter who loves you so very much!

Maaay Daaay

  Happy May Day to all of you wonderful people! Hope your day is filled with lots of spring warmth.
 
  And if you are out toiling away on some project, or job, here’s to all the hard labor you’re conquering; with hopes that you are fully appreciated for every single moment of the work you do, and are being compensated for it too!
 
  So, whether you are working, dancing around a Maypole or sneaking a beautiful bouquet of fresh spring flowers to someone special, I wish you a “Happy Festive May Day!”
 
  Oh! And meet Violet, Buttercup and Cornflower...three cute little sheep who want to wish you a happy “Maaay Daaay” too.
 
  These sweet lovable little fuzz balls were inspired by a dear friend of mine, who by the way is a very hard worker herself. She raises her own sheep, shears them, spins their wool into yarn and then creates beautiful hand knitted hats and mittens. Yes, you could say she’s pretty amaaazing!
 
  I hope you enjoy these happy little sheep on this wonderful day of May and that you take a chance to see them later in the week on my RedBubble site. Tulips

 Picture, the beauty of a lavender and rose morning sunrise, kissing the newly born tender budding tulips.  Each one coated with cool transparent gems of glistening dew.

  Every blooms a drop of brilliant color to your soul.

Dandelion Duckling

  “Rain, rain, is it here to stay? Rain, rain, I love to play in your puddles everyday! You give the flowers drops of you; bringing spring weather with storming clouds too. Rain, rain, I love to play and sing songs of you until I find May!”

   Dandelion Duckling, oh how she loves to sing and play in the rain. She is so happy to see all the April showers that have stormed our way...she just can’t get enough. Going all around the community telling everyone to come out and frolic.

  She’ll be splishing and splashing all over the town. Her little webbed feet carrying her quickly about, no puddle is to be left out.

  Dandelion Duckling loves to dance too. She does a dance where the rain rolls down her bright butter yellow back, making her wiggle, waddle, shiver and quack. Then, for the grand finale...she’ll puff up her fluffy feathers while vigorously shaking her curly little tail.

  Wow! Watch the raindrop’s fly! It’s like she has created her own rainstorm in the rainbow filled sky!

  Hope these April showers have you singing and dancing to the tune of spring flowers, and may you find a feathery friend to play in a puddle with, during these wet weather days.

  E. B. is saying goodbye to winter.

  Yeah, he’s had enough of the snow and cold rainy weather too. He can’t believe that he has the annual job of the great egg delivery in just a few more days. How is that possible with all this wicked weather, which continues to blow over all the Easter flowers and shake the beautiful cherry blossoms from their tender budding branches?

  Oh this has got to stop! No bunny should have to wade through this miserable wet cold muck of a what he’s heard his friends call “Sprinter!”

  Will it ever end? Well regardless, he has a big job in front of him and if you’d like your egg delivery on time please remember to leave out some juicy, sweet, carrots to refresh him...helping to keep up his energy from all that hopping around. He loves carrots of every color, they’re all delicious.

  Please know that if you hear a loud thumping sound in the yard it’s probably him in his snow/rain boots.

  May we all anticipate for the best; that there will be nothing but beautiful sunny skies, along with lots of joy ushering us into the season of spring weather. Filling our hearts with grace, renewal and the hope for better days ahead.

Meet Alexandra

  She sits among the colorful early tulips, delighting in their beauty, while waiting for the warmth of the spring weather to find its place upon her fur.

  This friendly feline consistently finds herself helping others with task great and small. She is quick on her paws, and always bringing joy to those who find themselves in her presences.

  She has a fondness for making conversation with new and old friends...every audience is amazed at her gift for cheerful, heartfelt discussion.

  Alexandra has the most warm loving soul and she is never afraid to come to your assistance. She stays very active, always on the go...you’ll wish you had her energy.

  As with any feline she is fond of kind words, yummy foods and loves to sleep. You may find her sleeping into the late afternoon, but that is only because she has been very busy doing the fabulous job of being a feline; working the night away. Sometimes she will work until the golden sunrise hours of the early morning.

  If ever you are gifted with a chance to meet a feline as wonderful as Alexandra, you will without doubt know that you have been purrfectly blessed!

Mini Clover

  Oh no! Mini Clover isn’t very happy right now. Some little Leprechaun has stolen up a bunch of her emerald green magical shamrocks.
  She has been looking everywhere! At the end of rainbows, under pots of gold, in the kitchen’s of cooks who are simmering up delicious dinners of corn beef with cabbage, Irish soda bread, and Irish coffee cakes.
  She’s passed through parades of people dancing jigs in all their Saint Patrick’s green, while singing joyful ditties. But no where has she found her magical shamrocks.
  Where might they be?
  No! Not in this old Leprechaun boot either!
  If you happen to find out where her magical shamrocks are, please let her know.
  She won’t be able to rest until they’re found.
  If you do find them, I know that Mini will happily bestow many Irish blessings upon you and your home.  

 Until then, I will send my own emerald green wishes for a “Happy St. Patrick’s Day” to you and all you love….

Ah, Crocuses

  Have you seen them? The tiniest of the Iris flower family. They pop their little purple, yellow or white tops out of the sleeping cool winter’s earth. Finding their way to the warmth of a soon to be spring sunshine. Each little face smiling a bright hello to you.

  A favorite Crocus of mine is the Crocus Sativus, also known as the “Saffron Crocus,” which actually blooms in the fall, when growing in the Mediterranean and Asia areas of the planet. This beautiful Lilac-purple flower grows three tiny red Saffron stems (stigmas) which are prized for their sweet flavor and auburn coloring that they add to wonderful dishes; such as Saffron Rice, Chicken and Lamb Tagine and not to be forgotten Lemon Squares! Yes, inside each of these little wonders is a bounty of gold… just some of the reasons why Saffron is so expensive. The other reason is because it has to be hand picked from the flower itself.  

  Regardless if you love the flower for its spice or beauty, a Crocus will never fail to bring you that much needed feeling of warmth and the promise of spring around the corner..when you find it sprouting out of the earth soil.

A Little Weird...

  So the other day my daughter asked me to do an alien drawing. One that could be put on a phone case. I told her, “You know I just can’t seem to do dark or ominous.” She told me, "That’s okay...cute will be fine."  So I guess the art realm I will be noted for is "Cute!”

  Hope you enjoy the “cute” little aliens I created for a phone case and other products that I’ll be posting on Redbubble.

  I decided to title it “We’re all a little weird.” I mean, let’s face it, we are! Everyone does their own thing and to some it may be crazy, strange or weird. So let’s just embrace our unique weirdness and “Rock This Planet!” No judgement….

Storm

 Today as I watched the snow falling gently to the ground, Storm the Winter Fairy landed upon my shoulder.  She asked me if I wanted to know a secret. So I told her, “ I’m not very good at keeping secrets.” She said, “ That’s okay, I’ll tell you anyway.” Then with a giggle she said, “Do you see all those snowflakes? They are all prayers that God has heard and answered.  Now He has sent them all back to the earth. See how quieted and whispering soft they are...soon they will all melt away.”  “Wow! All those little snowflakes are prayers?” I said. “Yes!” Storm replied. Then away she flew.

 Storms are like that, they come and go in your life, always leaving you in awe. Their magnificent beauty, sometimes turbulent, sometimes a gentle squall. Leaving you with secrets revealed….

Lovey Dovey

  I created this Valentine’s Day piece with all you “Love Birds” in mind. Yes, these two little birds are so in love with each other, they just have to be together all the time. Their hearts beat as one.  
 
 Did you ever have a moment like that? When you felt you just had to be with the one you love 24\7?  If not, I hope this is the year you find that feeling of very special heart popping, heart stopping love.

  And for those of you who have found that wonderful love, hold tight to it and keep it warm with all the sweetness you have to give.

Lollie and Opie

  Here are two new characters I’ve created. Lollie is in the one in yellow and Opie in the blue. These two little hedgehogs are the best of friends and they do lots of wonderful things together.

  Today they are helping Snowy by filling in some of his lost bits of snow. But I think it looks more like they are tickling him with that laugh on his face.

  Lollie and Opie are always finding ways to be helpful, they are little Kindness Kritters. In sharing these two fun character’s with you, may they brighten up your day. When I see them they make me smile and I hope you feel the same too.

  Aha! Another book idea on the horizon…if only I had more hands!

  Hi to all my friends out there! I’m letting you all have a peek at the first two pages of “A Year With Potz.”

Polar Star New Year....

  Happy New Year! I hope that the past year has been fruitful for you and that your plans for this New Year are filled with ideas to motivate you into a year of great thought, stewardship and cause.

  My cause, as you may have noticed, is the concerns of the beautiful creatures of this planet. They have no say in the way we treat this earth but yet they are recipients of our actions. Yes, we leave them plastic to clutter their habitats, garbage to fill the fields and oceans they hunt and live in; not to mention how we continually load up the air they breath with metals and chemicals.

  Okay! I know this isn’t the typical sweet “Happy New Year” everyone would expect of me, but I can’t help myself! I have to speak out and remind us all that we need to do our part. It doesn’t have to be mind shattering. It could be as simple as using a recyclable bag, eating dinner at home the week through, carpooling to the mall, work, movies, any event. Helping out someone who may not be able to do a task that is environmentally friendly. There are a number of ways we can do our part.
