October

October arrives on the heels of summer's end, still holding in its grasp, her warmth.

Soon a morning's chill creeps into the early hours of October’s day.

The note these cool mornings bring, lingers like a lover’s words of departure, on the woodlands leaves.

October bears the end of warmth and the beginning of the world turning to a much colder and darker side.

Soon there will be harvest to reap, as mouth watering vegetation starts to fall from the season's vines.

October skies tell a story as old as time, with its day shortening and its night growing long.

And with October’s last day, to which some call All Hallows’ Eve, Halloween or Samhain, we will bid a grand adieu.

But mind you, as you travel through the last of October’s night…beware! There will be October souls wandering the cool, damp earth, with hopes for an auspicious candy delight!
