Figgy Pudding

Oh, what a joyous night! The Eve of Christmas has arrived and the house is alive with spirits burning bright.

The roasted turkey has been cooked to everyone’s delight. The table has been set, while all around it have squeezed in tight.

The blazing fire in the fireplace crackles as its light gleams off the hearth, keeping all who sit near, warm, cozy and full of cheer.

Outside the sound of cello music drifts into the Christmas Eve’s cool night air. The tune “We Wish You A Merry Christmas,” plays in hopes that no soul has been left in despair.

In the soft lamp lights glow, two steady and sure bakers wait outside the festive homes celebratory door, as the guest inside sing, “Bring us a Figgy Pudding...yes, bring us some more!”

Sitting at the bakers feet with his nose placed under the Figgy Pudding treat, is the cellist little pup...he is hopeful that the bakers may slip up, missing a beat...landing some Figgy Pudding right at his feet.

Gently falling in the winter’s air are snowflakes of many shapes and sizes...they’ll continue falling until Christmas morn arises.

A star that gleams up in the heavens so high...giving hope of our Lord, to all the passersby.

I hope that the Christmas Fairies fill your plate with “Figgy Pudding” and your stockings with gifts of Joy, Peace and most of all...Love from above.

Merry Christmas….
