Time For Pie!

November days can be so unpredictable, crisp and cold with skies so blue, rainy and windy with gloomy, gray clouds. And then there’s my favorite...the calm, warm days of November with lavender skies. These days seem to float in with gentle winds that brush your cheeks and warm your hurried mind. Lavender days are best for getting out and exploring, they invite the child in you to play and relax before winter’s icy cold grip has you pulling on your winter wear.

One of the things I love to do on a November day...no matter the weather...is find Peggy’s Pie Truck. This adorable pie truck is filled full with fresh baked pies. November is a choice month for pie making, due to the overwhelming gifts received during the season’s fresh harvest of beautiful fruit.

This is Peggy’s busiest time of year as she tries to make and bake them all! Today the list of pies on display are the mouth watering Northwest Berry, some Oregon Cherry, tender soft, sugary peach from the Pacific Northwest, eastern hills. Also, the traditional favorites such as Apple, Pumpkin and Cream pies. The apple pies chosen for this day are the Granny Smith with it’s tart, tangy zip and the Autumn Glory known for its wonderful crunch and delicate hint of cinnamon sweetness...making every pie a warm slice of holiday joy. Then of course she has the creamy deliciousness of fresh harvested pumpkin and smooth chocolate cream. Oh! Such a wonderful dream!

So if you happen to be taking a November lavender day stroll and find yourself pining for a piece of pie; look for Peggy’s pie truck and her little tangy, sweet helper, Gala Apple Pie...she’s the dancing pie waving to everyone as they pass by.

Me - oh - my - time - for - pie!
